Muller marks 200th Bundesliga match with brace, powers Bayern to win over Leverkusen

You don't need central defenders when you have Thomas Muller.

Bayern Munich, despite rolling out a starting lineup entirely bereft of a recognizable central defender, cruised to a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday at the Allianz Arena, with Muller netting a brace in his 200th Bundesliga appearance.

His first tally of the match came courtesy of a brilliant run and assist from Douglas Costa - an increasingly common occurrence as the Brazilian winger continues to establish himself as one of the very best signings of the transfer window.

Perhaps the club's official Twitter account knew something we didn't prior to the match ...

Muller would score another, from the penalty spot, in the second half - giving him 76 goals in 200 Bundesliga appearances - before Arjen Robben added a penalty of his own to cap off the comfortable victory.

The win sees the reigning champion maintain its perfect start to the season after three matches, while Leverkusen suffers its first setback of the young campaign.
