The Indianapolis Colts activated guard Donald Thomas from the PUP list Friday, giving a thin offensive line some added depth and competition heading into the regular season.

Thomas started the first two games of the 2013 season before a torn quad sidelined him for the rest of the year. His 2014 campaign was also brought to an early end when he suffered the same injury in training camp that summer.

With Jack Mewhort making the move to right tackle in his second season, Thomas will likely compete with Lance Louis for the starting spot at left guard.

Thomas spent time with the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots across four seasons before joining the Colts in 2013, appearing in 43 games and making 21 starts over that span.
