Report: Marshawn Lynch settles $75K fine for avoiding media after NFC Championship

Andrew Weber / USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch reached a settlement with the NFL to resolve his $75,000 fine for avoiding the media after the NFC Championship Game, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Lynch won't pay a cent of the fine, but will pay the full amount plus an additional fine should he fail to comply with the NFL's policy on media availability in the future, Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith reports.

The initial fine, which only became public this week, was imposed on Lynch for not talking to the media following the Seahawks' win over the Green Bay Packers in January.

Days later, Lynch famously repeated the phrase "I'm just here so I won't get fined" as a response to all questions at Super Bowl Media Day.
