Report: Cowboys' Orlando Scandrick to miss season with torn ACL, MCL

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick has reportedly suffered a torn ACL and will miss the 2015 season.

An MRI confirmed the diagnosis Tuesday night, according to multiple reports, and Ed Werder of ESPN reports Scandrick also tore his MCL.

The news didn't come as a surprise, as the injury in practice didn't look good. Scandrick was reportedly in tears as he was carted off the field, covering his face with his jersey.

Teammates gathered in a prayer circle following the incident, and secondary coach Jerome Henderson said following practice that Scandrick told him it was a torn ACL.

Scandrick has tallied 50-plus tackles and two interceptions in the last two seasons, and is one of the Cowboys' starting corners. Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne, and rookie Byron Jones will have to step up should he be out for an extended period.
