NSAC suspends Palhares, Shields, Magalhaes pending hearings

Jason Silva / USA TODAY Sports

The Nevada State Athletic Commission temporarily suspended WSOF fighters Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields, as well as the UFC's Caio Magalhaes on Thursday for unsportsmanlike behavior.

Nevada Deputy Attorney General Chris Eccles is drafting disciplinary complaints for Palhares and Shields, MMAJunkie reports, and will review their Aug. 1 fight at WSOF 22 for the commission when the matter goes to a hearing.

Palhares' misconduct included eye-gouging Shields during the fight, as well as lengthening and cranking the kimura choke he submitted Shields with.

Shields was disciplined for punching Palhares after the bell.

Magalhaes spat at opponent Josh Samman after losing their fight in the "TUF 21" finale in July.
