Haula signs 2-year extension with Wild worth a reported $2 million

Erik Haula has avoided an arbitrator's ruling, signing a two-year contract extension with the Minnesota Wild, the team announced Sunday.

Minnesota did not release terms of the agreement, but he will reportedly earn $2 million throughout the life of the deal, according to Minneapolis Star Tribune's Michael Russo.

Haula will receive a slight raise from the $900,000 he took in last season. He requested $1.2 million in arbitration while the Wild countered with $750,000.

The speedy checking forward contributed seven goals and 14 points in his 72 appearances, and was relied on in a variety of key defensive roles.
