David Price to make Blue Jays debut Monday against Twins

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

David Price will make his Toronto Blue Jays debut on Monday at Rogers Centre, where he'll start against the Minnesota Twins.

Price was acquired from the Detroit Tigers on Thursday in exchange for pitching prospects Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt, giving the Blue Jays a true ace as they aim to make the playoffs for the first time since 1993.

Price, the 2012 Cy Young winner and a five-time All-Star, is an impending free agent, and there is no guarantee he will stay with the team long-term. He comes to Toronto with a 9-4 record and 2.53 ERA in 21 starts - his lowest ERA since his rookie season, in which he only pitched 14 innings.

Ervin Santana is scheduled to start for the Twins.
