The NFL requested police in Scarborough, Maine keep a close eye on a property owned by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ahead of the NFL's announcement that Tom Brady's four-game suspension will be upheld.

"They did reach out and let us know about the decision and that it might not be popular," Scarborough police chief Robbie Moulton told David Hench of the Portland Press Herald.

There was no unusual activity at the property and police are reportedly not planning any additional security beyond patrolling the area.

Goodell is believed to own a multimillion-dollar home in the area. Police have previously been asked by the NFL to keep an eye on things.

"In the past, when there have been unpopular decisions, there have been emails and things. I wouldn't say it rose to the level of threats, but certainly expressing unhappiness," Moulton said.
