Saints place Marques Colston, Jairus Byrd on active PUP list

The New Orleans Saints placed receiver Marques Colston, safety Jairus Byrd, and defensive tackle Glenn Foster on the active/physically unable to perform list Tuesday, according to The Times-Picayune. Cornerback Brian Dixon was placed on the non-football injury list.

Colston and Byrd are the most notable names to appear on the list, but neither issue is believed to be serious.

Byrd tore his meniscus in October and was lost for the season, but participated in OTAs. Colston was sidelined for most of the spring because of an undisclosed ailment.

Players on the active PUP list can be removed at any time during training camp, but must sit out the season's first six games if they remain there in the regular season.
