Much was made about Jameis Winston's weight leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft, but the first-overall pick insists he's in a good place heading into training camp.

"I'm 236 (pounds) right now," the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback told Pat Yasinskas of ESPN on Tuesday. "And I know in this Tampa heat during training camp, I'm going to lose a little bit more. I'm back at a good weight. I'm just looking forward to going out there and balling out."

Despite having more than a month off after minicamp, Winston insisted he worked hard to prepare for the upcoming season by training with receivers Vincent Jackson and Louis Murphy, as well as tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

"There never truly is an offseason," Winston said. "These guys have been working their tails off trying to get better and trying to get into football shape. We're ready to get football back in action."

Winston, along with Seferian-Jenkins and 2014 top-10 pick Mike Evans, will be counted on greatly to be the foundation for the future in the Buccaneers' revamped offense.
