The Minnesota Wild have reached an affiliation agreement with the ECHL's Quad City Mallards, the Wild announced Tuesday.

Quad City becomes the Wild's exclusive ECHL affiliate after acting as the Wild's secondary ECHL affiliate last season. The Alaska Aces served as Minnesota's primary affiliate in the league.

"Quad City offers a great organization that will provide our players an excellent opportunity to continue their development," said Brent Flahr, assistant general manager of the Wild.

Next season will be Quad City's second in the ECHL, having previously been part of the United Hockey League and Central Hockey League.

Minnesota's AHL affiliate remains the Iowa Wild.
