The Jet could land back in Dallas this summer.

The Mavericks have had conversations with veteran point guard Jason Terry in regards to a reunion, Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News reports. Terry is a fan favorite in Dallas, having played eight seasons with the club and winning a championship in 2011.

The 37-year-old Terry spent last season with the rival Houston Rockets. Terry filled in admirably for the oft-injured Patrick Beverley and managed to play in 77 games, including 18 starts. He remains a lethal 3-point shooter and a pesky defender, even at his advanced age.

The Mavericks are pressed for help at point guard, and while Terry wouldn't solve all their problems, he would make for a useful addition. Dallas's depth chart at point guard currently includes Devin Harris and Raymond Felton.

The club is reportedly talking to free agent Jeremy Lin.

There's also the added bonus of Terry's familiarity with the franchise and head coach Rick Carlisle. Terry played three seasons under Carlisle's tutelage.

Last season, Terry averaged seven points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 21.3 minutes per game.
