It's the offseason.

While teams' front offices tweak their rosters and coaches game plan for Summer League, veteran players tend to distance themselves from the sport in hopes of clearing their minds, healing their bodies, and recharging for the following season.

This summer, 17-year pro Vince Carter isn't hard to find. Instead of heading to the Bahamas, he has elected to put in some extra work with the Memphis Grizzlies' younger players and others who hope to make next year's roster.

A Florida native, Carter didn't have to travel far in order to join his team as they participate in the Orlando Summer League.

Carter has acted as an on-court mentor, if not unofficial coach, to fresh-faced players such as Jordan Adams, Russ Smith and JaMychal Green.

While he has recently stated that he has an interest in doing some TV work, and potentially some coaching, Carter is relishing the twilight of his playing career, including being involved in Summer League.

In an effort to preserve his body, which is no longer capable of highlight-worthy aerial assaults, Coach Carter has embraced modern cryotherapy technology.
