Justin Verlander is still looking for his first win of the season.

The Detroit Tigers righty was roughed up by the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park, surrendering seven earned runs on seven hits over five innings of work.

Toronto piled on six runs in the fifth powered by Jose Bautista and Justin Smoak homers. It's just the fifth time in Verlander's career he's allowed six or more runs in an inning and first time since June of last season, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

"Two ways you can approach this: You can look at the fifth inning and think negatively, or you can look at the rest of it and think positively," Verlander said postgame.

Verlander, who missed the first portion of the season with a strained right triceps and one start with a sore back, is now winless in four starts.

Here's a look at how he's fared over those outings:

July 5 TOR 5 7 7 5 2
June 30 PIT 6 6 2 3 5
June 19 NYY 6.2 10 6 2 1
June 13 CLE 5 3 2 2 2
