Miller broke his nose and suffered a scratched eye during practice Wednesday with the Pistons' Summer League team, the team's official site reports.

Analysis:

Miller sustained the injuries when he was elbowed in the face, placing his availability for the Orlando Summer League opener against the Magic in question. After taking advantage of two 10-day contracts with the Pistons last season, he eventually made four appearances with the team, averaging 3.0 points (on 25 percent shooting), 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 15 minutes. With the offseason additions of Ersan Ilyasova, Stanley Johnson, Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock, and Danny Granger (knee), Miller will have to hurdle a muddled mass to garner a role in the forward rotation in 2015-16.
