The first day of free agency didn't exactly go as planned for the New York Knicks, with big name stars yet to commit to The Big Apple.

Things could change on Thursday, however, when in addition to a meeting with LaMarcus Aldridge, the Knicks will meet with Arron Afflalo, according to the New York Daily News' Frank Isola.

The news shouldn't come as much of a surprise, considering a report earlier this week that the Knicks are considered frontrunners in the pursuit of the 29-year-old's services.

The market for Afflalo may have cooled over the course of a disappointing season, as the veteran shooting guard averaged 13.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on a pedestrian True Shooting Percentage of 53.3 in 78 games with the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers.

Still, plugging Afflalo in at the right price would represent an upgrade over the Knicks' other options at the two-spot, and he has been a fairly consistent 3-and-D wing player over the course of his NBA career.

Afflalo - who was traded from Orlando to Denver last June before being shipped to Portland at February's trade deadline - will likely be moving on to his fourth team in three seasons when he does eventually put ink to paper this month.
