Bruce Fedyck / USA Today

New York Rangers forward Derick Brassard will need at least a month to recover after undergoing wrist surgery to repair his extensor tendon last week.

The Rangers say Brassard will be ready in time for training camp.

Brassard played through the injury in the playoffs, recording nine goals and 16 points in 19 games, including a five-point performance in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.
