Analysis:
Nash and the Hurricanes looked as though they could be headed for a parting of ways after Carolina declined to extend him a qualifying offer, but it appears the team may have been able to save some money by letting him go through the unrestricted free agency process. The 26-year-old compiled eight goals and 25 points in 68 games a season ago, and could see time on the Hurricanes' third line in 2015-16.
