From the Vicente Calderon to the San Siro.

Inter Milan announced Wednesday that the transfer of Miranda from Atletico Madrid is complete, as the Brazilian centre-back put pen to paper on a contract after passing his medical tests.

While neither Inter nor Atleti confirmed the details of the signing, Spanish daily AS is reporting that Miranda is joining Inter on loan for two seasons, and the Nerazzuri will then sign him outright for €15 million in the third season.

Miranda, who was appointed as Brazil's captain during the Selecao's Copa America campaign, arrived at Atleti in the 2011-12 La Liga season and went on to help the club capture the 2011-12 Europa League title and the 2013-14 La Liga crown, and reach the final of the 2013-14 Champions League.

However, his most notable contribution to the club was scoring the extra-time goal that allowed Atleti to claim the 2012-13 Copa del Rey title against eternal rival Real Madrid.

"For me they were four perfect years," said Miranda, reflecting on his time at Atleti. "I won almost everything that (I) could win and the truth is that. I have been very happy. I say goodbye to a family, because for me, Atletico de Madrid was a family. A family with many victories, many conquests and leave very happy."

He added: "Unfortunately I cannot say goodbye playing the last match at the Calderon, but just the same, they sang my name and I was very happy with that. The fans supported me very much, they were always by my side and whenever I took the field I gave my all, I fought and I gave my life for things to go well.

"Surely, I'm now one of those fans. Now, wherever I am, I'm going to wear Atleti's shirt and I will be a fan. I will cheer when I watch matches on TV because I leave here my family, my teammates and great fans in love with football that helped us a lot."
