Ex-Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes pleads guilty to leaving scene of a crash

Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes pleaded guilty to charges of leaving the scene of a crash early last month, according to multiple reports.

Appearing in Wrentham District Court on Wednesday, Spikes was also found guilty for the speeding and marked lane violations stemming from the incident.

Though Spikes reportedly won't face jail time as a result of Wednesday's proceedings, he was placed on administrative probation and lost his license for one year. He was also fined over $2,000 and will be required to attend a driver attitudinal retraining program.

Spikes' 2011 Maybach was found abandoned at a crash scene on the morning of June 7, and a police investigation determined that he had struck the back of another vehicle with three occupants who were all treated for minor injuries.

The Patriots, who had signed the veteran linebacker as a free agent earlier this offseason, released Spikes the day after the crash.
