Mets' Cuddyer 'definitely concerned' after suffering knee injury

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

The dark cloud hanging over the New York Mets has been unrelenting this season.

With Travis d'Arnaud and David Wright already on the disabled list, outfielder Michael Cuddyer departed midway through Tuesday's game with a sore left knee and will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

"I'm definitely concerned but I won't jump to conclusions," Cuddyer told reporters.

The 36-year-old has appeared in 71 of 78 games this season, hitting .245/.299/.368 with six home runs, 12 doubles, and 28 RBIs.

Cuddyer has been dogged by injuries the last three seasons, having most recently missed 77 games in 2014 with a right hamstring strain and fractured shoulder.
