This is no surprise, as Hodgson's performance hasn't come close to justifying his cap hit. After signing a lucrative extension with the Sabres, Hodgson's play fell off a cliff, as he never improved his skating, consistency or defensive play. The Sabres will buy him out shortly, making him an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Hodgson's fantasy value will only rebound if he finds another franchise willing to give him a shot in a scoring role.
