Buffalo Sabres forward Cody Hodgson has cleared waivers, and is expected to be bought out of the final four seasons of his contract with the organization.
Hodgson is owed $19 million over the next four seasons, and counts $4.25 million against the salary cap. He will receive most of that money, and also have the opportunity to sign a contract elsewhere.
He contributed 13 points, including just six goals, and featured a minus-28 rating last season.
Hodgson was brought to Buffalo in a deadline deal with the Vancouver Canucks involving Zack Kassian.
