Bruins GM has 'explored some different possibilities' with Martin Jones

Martin Jones just became a member of the Boston Bruins and his future is already an uncertainty.

Jones was acquired from the Los Angeles Kings as part of a deal for Milan Lucic on Friday, but he may never play a game for Boston.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney discussed the future of his newly acquired goaltender on a conference call Tuesday.

"Had discussions, explored some different possibilities with him. We'll see where the day leads to," he told reporters.

Sweeney could trade Jones, as the GM said he's open to any opportunity that arises.

A starting role in Boston won't be possible for the 25-year-old Jones to begin next season, as Sweeney also said Tuesday that Tuukka Rask isn't going anywhere.

Jones appeared in 15 games last season for the Kings, posting a record of 4-5-2 with a goals-against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of .906, while earning three shutouts.
