Flyers sign VandeVelde to multi-year extension

The Philadelphia Flyers used some of their limited cap space to lock up Chris VandeVelde for multiple years.
The team announced the 28-year-old's extension on Monday, which TSN's Frank Seravalli reports as a two-year, $1.425-million deal.
VandeVelde scored nine goals and added six assists in 72 games - a career high - during his second season with the Flyers.
