Analysis:
Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman said that re-signing Kruger -- along with Brandon Saad and Andrew Desjardins -- is a top priority. Kruger's a defensive center and penalty-killing specialist who excels in the faceoff dot, but doesn't contribute much offensively, with only seven goals and 10 assists during the 2014-15 regular season. He may also need offseason surgery for injuries suffered during the Hawks' Stanley Cup run.
