Biyombo will head into unrestricted free agency after the Hornets failed to extend a qualifying offer to him Monday, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Analysis:
Biyombo averaged 19 minutes in 64 games last season, but the Hornets acquired Spencer Hawes and rookie Frank Kaminsky this offseason, leaving little room for Biyombo when considering that Al Jefferson and Cody Zeller will likely begin the season as starters. Regardless of where Biyombo ends up, he'll likely have a role off the bench and should struggle for relevancy in standard leagues this upcoming season.
