The Ottawa Senators have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the AHL's reigning top defenseman, and unrestricted free agent Chris Wideman.
His deal includes a $600,000 salary at the NHL level, and $400,000 in the AHL, the team announced.
Wideman led AHL defenseman with 19 goals and 61 points, and tallied 116 penalty minutes in 75 games with Binghamton.
If he's not contributing on the Senators' blue line at a cap-friendly hit, he'll be one the higher-paid players in the minor leagues.
