Hernandez said he dealt with some heat-related cramps during Sunday's start against the Angels, but he does not expect it to be an issue going forward, 710 AM ESPN Seattle's Shannon Drayer reports.

Analysis:

The cramps explain why Hernandez was removed after only 96 pitches, as he struck out eight batters over six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and three walks. With temperatures pushing into the mid-90s during Sunday's game in Anaheim, Hernandez merely fell victim to some uncomfortable weather, and it may have cost him his 11th win of the season. Owners will still be pleased to see the impressive strikeout total, after Hernandez recorded six or fewer punchouts in each of his previous five starts.
