Parenteau proved to be a poor fit in coach Michel Therrien's speed-oriented system in his lone year in Montreal, as he recorded just eight goals and 14 assists in 56 games and frequently served as a healthy scratch. If he can latch on with a team that can better accommodate his talents, Parenteau could provide some usefulness as a second- or third-line winger.
