Report: Manchester United target Everton's Coleman

Add Seamus Coleman to the never-ending list of names connected to Manchester United.

The Everton defender is reportedly the latest player to catch the eye of manager Louis van Gaal as he attempts to reload his team for a run at the title.

While the team have yet to make a formal bid for Coleman's services, he fits the mold that United are searching for as they attempt to bring in players with Premier League experience, according to Sky Sports.

United might have had a better record by the conclusion of the season if they hadn't experienced a flurry of injuries on the backline. Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, and Rafael all went down with various injuries, forcing van Gaal to use winger Antonio Valencia as a right-back when he ran out of defensive options.

Coleman joins Sergio Ramos, Mats Hummels, Nathaniel Clyne, and others as defenders linked with the club since the season concluded.

The Republic of Ireland international has made 185 appearances for Everton since signing with them in 2009.
