A tough opening week for CFL quarterbacks continued Saturday in Regina.

Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant was forced from his team's game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the second quarter, coming up limping on a non-contact play, after attempting a pass.

After a report that the club feared he'd torn his Achilless tendon, the Roughriders confirmed the worst late Saturday night:

Here's video of the play where Durant was hurt:

Durant was eventually carted off the field, and was photographed leaving the stadium on crutches.

Durant, 32, completed 13-of-18 passes for 165 yards before he was forced to exit, throwing for two touchdowns.

Injuries limited Durant in 2014, as well, when he threw for 1,792 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions.

The Roughriders ended up losing Saturday, 30-26, as their season begins most inauspiciously.
