McGinn (back) was traded to Buffalo on Friday along with forward Ryan O'Reilly in exchange for defenseman Nikita Zadorov, forward Mikhail Grigorenko, prospect J.T. Compher, and the 31st overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.

Analysis:

O'Reilly is definitely the headliner in the deal from Buffalo's point of view, but McGinn is a solid extra piece. A serious back injury limited him to just 19 games this past season, but McGinn scored 19 goals just two seasons ago and he's a solid depth player. He is expected to be fully healthy for training camp in the fall.
