Athletics' Vogt leaves game vs. Royals after being hit by pitch on right hand; X-rays negative

Oakland Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt left Friday's game with the Kansas City Royals in the ninth inning after being hit in the right hand by a Franklin Morales pitch.
Vogt was in considerable pain, but the plunking did not appear to be intentional.
The Athletics and Royals have engaged in several altercations this year as a result of pitchers throwing inside, but cooler heads prevailed this time.
Vogt had X-rays after the game and the area below his wrist isn't broken, according to manager Bob Melvin. His status for Saturday's game is up in the air.
Vogt will be re-evaluated Saturday.
