The Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils have hooked up on the NHL draft floor to make a trade late in the first round.

Forward Kyle Palmieri was traded to the Devils in exchange for the 41st overall pick and a 2016 third-round selection.

Palmieri, 24, was a first-round selection of the Ducks in 2009. This past season, he recorded 14 goals and 15 assists in 57 games, marking the best point-per-game production of his career to date.

He has one year remaining on his contract and is set to earn $1,466,667 in 2015-16.
