Emmanuel Mudiay: Goes 7th to Nuggets

Mudiay was drafted by the Nuggets with the seventh pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

Analysis:

Mudiay, who boasts great size as a 6-5, 200 pound point guard, spent all of last season playing for Guangdong Foshan in China. Injuries limited the time he was on the court, as he managed to play in just 12 games. However, when he was on the floor, he was very productive, posting averages of 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in 32 minutes per game. Mudiay doesn't have a great outside shooting stroke, as he shot just 34 percent from three, but he is a great slasher and can get to the basket at will while also distributing the ball to his teammates. His size and athleticism should allow him to thrive in the league, but he will need to develop an outside shot should he want to gravitate towards the top tier of NBA point guards. With the pick, it appears that the Nuggets will likely look to trade longtime starting point guard Ty Lawson and move on with Mudiay as their point guard of the future.
