Flames land Hamilton from Bruins

Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames have acquired dynamic defenseman Dougie Hamilton from the Boston Bruins.

Boston will receive Calgary's first-round pick (No. 15 overall) as well as a pair of second-round selections (Nos. 45 and 52) in Friday night's NHL Entry draft.

Hamilton is coming off his rookie contract and is poised to receive a sizeable salary increase when becoming a restricted free agent on July 1.

The 22-year-old posted 10 goals and 32 assists over 72 games last season.

Hamilton was drafted ninth overall by the Bruins in 2011 and has recorded 22 goals and 83 points over 178 games spanning three seasons.
