Tiger-Cats' Grigsby to miss opener with injury

Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back Nic Grigsby has been placed on the team's injured list, and won't compete in Friday's season opener against the Calgary Stampeders due to the undisclosed injury.

Ray Holley will serve as his replacement. He rushed for 40 yards on eight carries with one touchdown in a 26-15 preseason win against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last weekend.

Grigsby is the third Hamilton rusher to suffer an injury before the beginning of the regular season. Mossis Madu (shoulder surgery) and C.J. Gable (hand) are the other two running backs stuck on the sidelines. Gable is set to return in a few weeks, while Madu will miss the remainder of the campaign.

The team has been riddled with injuries since the beginning of training camp, most notably losing defensive tackle Brian Bulcke for the remainder of the season.

The Ticats will kick off their season on the road in Calgary at McMahon Stadium on Friday night.
