Hornets take Juan Vaulet with 39th pick in the NBA draft

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) General manager Rich Cho said the Charlotte Hornets have traded swingman Juan Vaulet from Argentina to the Brooklyn Nets for two future second round picks in 2018 and 2019.

Vaulet was the 39th overall pick in Thursday night's NBA draft.

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Vaulet is the first player to be drafted from Argentina since Carlos Delfino in 2003.

He is the first player to be selected directly from the Argentina League since Jorge Gonzalez, a 7-foot-7, 400-pound center who was taken by the Hawks.

The Hornets drafted Frank Kaminsky with their ninth overall pick earlier Thursday night, the third straight year they have used their first-round selection on a power forward from the Big Ten. Charlotte selected Indiana's Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh with their top picks in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
