Pacers take Oregon guard Joseph Young at No. 43

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indiana Pacers have selected Oregon guard Joseph Young with the 43rd overall pick in the NBA draft.

Young, who was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year last year, averaged 20.7 points and 3.8 assists last season.

Young played the last two seasons at Oregon after transferring from Houston in 2013.

The Pacers selected Texas big man Myles Turner with the 11th overall pick in the draft.

Young and Turner join a team that missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2010. Now the Pacers want to go with a faster, smaller lineup next season and are looking for their draft picks to make an impact as early as next year.
