Cowboys' La'el Collins attends NFL Rookie Symposium despite going undrafted

In many ways, La'el Collins is an exceptional talent and was treated as such at the NFL Rookie Symposium.

Although the event is usually only attended by drafted players, Collins' agent successfully negotiated for the Dallas Cowboys' offensive tackle to attend the conference, according to FOX Sports' Alex Marvez.

Collins spoke about the lessons he's learned thus far at the symposium.

"A lot of things about choices," Collins said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "You know, the choices that you make and dealing with the consequences. I think that's the biggest thing. We all make choices in life. Whether they're good or bad, you have to be ready for the consequences. Those guys did a great job of putting us in every situation there is and we have another day tomorrow, so I look forward to just continuing to soak up everything that I can and applying it to my every day life."

Projected as a first-round pick, Collins rapidly descended down draft boards after he was questioned about the shooting death of a pregnant woman that he previously had a relationship with. However, he was never considered a suspect.

As a part of the league's best offensive line, Collins is doing everything he can to prepare for a rigorous rookie campaign.

"Well, I'll be in Dallas just training up at the facility, the whole time before we get ready to go to training camp," Collins said. "That's what I really look forward to doing, spending my time there and in the film room making sure I'm prepared for training camp."

The Cowboys are presented with an opportunity to make another playoff run, and Collins appears to be well-equipped to make a major contribution to the team's ascension as a Super Bowl contender.
