AFC West Notebook: Broncos deny attempt to trade Manning; Conley produced Star Wars fan fiction

Denver Broncos

Broncos deny trying to trade Manning. A rumor surfaced Tuesday that the Broncos were looking to trade Peyton Manning to the Houston Texans, but both teams denied the report. Breathe easy, Broncos fans.

Manning sends birthday gift to dead fan. Logan Brown was a huge fan of Manning but died in a car accident after getting struck by a drunk driver. Brown's grandmother wrote a letter to Manning, and the quarterback sent an autographed photo to the late teenager's family.

Latimer seeking larger role in offense. Cody Latimer caught just two passes in his rookie season, and considered his performance a major disappointment. Latimer is vowing to gain more playing time in 2015, and hopes to prove that the Broncos' investment was worthwhile after being selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Kansas City Chiefs

Conley produced Star Wars fan fiction in college. Wide receiver Chris Conley is gaining as much attention as a filmmaker as he is for being an uber-quick athlete. Conley produced a Star Wars fan fiction in college and said he's been labelled "The Star Wars Guy".

Thomas named secret superstar. De'Anthony Thomas is known for his game-breaking speed, and recently transitioned from running back to wide receiver. Scouting service Pro Football Focus rated Thomas as a player to watch in their "Secret Superstar" series.

Chiefs' run defense may be better in 2015. Kansas City allowed a league-low four rushing touchdowns in 2014, and Joel Thorman of SB Nation's Arrowhead Pride breaks down how the unit could be even better in 2015.

San Diego Chargers

NFL, City of San Diego meeting on stadium plan. The NFL and the City of San Diego met to discuss a proposed stadium within the city. The Chargers appear content to submit a relocation plan that would see the team move to Los Angeles County, much to the chagrin of local councilors.

Flowers says he's ready for training camp. Brandon Flowers didn't participate in organized team activities, but the cornerback said he'll be ready for training camp. Flowers signed a four-year, $36-million extension in March.

Barksdale quickly learning electric guitar. Joe Barksdale picked up a new hobby over the offseason, and it's certainly not related to his on-field performance. Barksdale is learning how to play the electric guitar.

Oakland Raiders

Raiders working to meet salary cap threshold. The Raiders entered the offseason armed with cap space, and ESPN's Bill Williamson breaks down how the team can meet the cap floor.

City of Oakland meets first deadline on stadium. The City of Oakland met its first deadline in an attempt to build a new stadium to keep the team intact. The Raiders and Chargers already had a new building approved by the Carson City Council in April.

Carr drills camera, posts video to Instagram. Derek Carr showed off his accuracy via Instagram, but in an attempt to connect with his receiver, drilled a camera. The ensuing, must-see video is posted here.
