Angel Di Maria: No plans to leave Manchester United; 'I like to deal with things'

Angel Di Maria's time at Old Trafford isn't exactly going as planned.

After arriving at Manchester United from Real Madrid for a British record fee of £59.7 million, Di Maria's form dipped considerably as the Premier League season wore on, resulting in reduced playing time and appearances off the bench.

The struggles have inevitably produced rumours about his future at United, including a link to Barcelona. However, in conversation with Argentinian newspaper Ole, the versatile midfielder stated that he'll be staying put, and that he plans on dealing with the adversity.

Asked if he will leave United, Di Maria answered: "No, because I'm not thinking like that. In Madrid there were times when I was whistled around the stadium but faced it and then it turned around. I like to deal with things."

When pressed about feeling uneasy, he said: "Yes. For me, and my family. Because not everything goes as I want, because I don't play. Because I came with an intention and end up on the bench. It's hard to tell how I feel there. I started well, with goals and assists. I was having a good time, until I was out. It's a little hard to explain why I do not play."

Manager Louis van Gaal acknowledged Di Maria's struggles back in March, saying: "The first season is always difficult."
