Weddle was back with the Chargers for a mandatory three-day minicamp Tuesday, and he announced that while he will be giving 100-percent effort to the team this year, this will almost certainly be his last season with the Chargers, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Weddle had skipped all voluntary workouts this offseason as he attempted to open a dialogue with the team about a contract extension, but it appears that the time for negotiation has passed. "Contrary to what has recently been said by upper management, there has never been any financial numbers discussed and the Chargers have never put an offer on the table for us to consider," Weddle said after practice. "It is obvious to me I am not part of this organization's long-term plans." Weddle is said to be in tremendous shape, and nobody doubts that he will give maximum effort for the Bolts this season, but this is looking like a rather ugly end to his eight-year run in San Diego.
