Raiders a no-show at Carson stadium meeting

Representatives from the San Diego Chargers were on hand Monday evening in Carson, Calif., for a town-hall meeting regarding the construction of an NFL stadium, but one team was conspicuous by their absence.

No one from the Oakland Raiders was present, much to the disappointment of some of their fans who made the trip.

"The Raiders and Chargers fans who showed up here expected it," Raider fan Tyrone Butterfield told CBS Los Angeles. "I’m very disappointed."

It remains unclear why nobody from the Raiders decided to attend, but Carson Mayor Albert Robles didn't seem concerned.

"I wouldn’t read too much into it," Robles said. "I know that I’ve met with the president of the Raiders, and every indication I’ve seen from him, eyeball to eyeball, every indication to me is that they’re committed."

Both the Chargers and Raiders could land in Carson if they can't reach a deal for a new stadium in their respective cities. At the moment, nothing on that front appears imminent and 2015 could be the last season citizens of San Diego and Oakland can enjoy NFL football in their own backyard.
