Cuba Gooding Jr.'s NHL Awards trainwreck will never be forgotten

There was one very notable omission when the NHL unveiled it's roster of presenters for Wednesday's 2015 NHL Awards ceremony in Las Vegas.

The event, which will be hosted by comedian Rob Riggle and feature a musical performance by Daughtry, features a mixture of ex-NHLers, Hollywood stars, and television personalities, but it's impossible to ignore the absence of Cuba Gooding Jr.

For anyone who forgot, Gooding breathed unconventional life into last year's awards ceremony by turning his presentation duties into a piece of performance art, channeling everyone's favorite relative who gets hammered and behaves inappropriately at family functions.

The complete comedic trainwreck can be seen in its entirety below, courtesy of Puck Daddy:

The self-serious hockey world mostly frowned upon Gooding's antics, but Sports Illustrated's Allan Muir lauded him for bringing some much-needed levity to the ceremony, which is usually painfully boring rather than amusingly awkward.

Gooding won't have an opportunity to build on his act this year, but his 2014 appearance will live on whether the NHL likes it or not - if only because presenters like Colin Hanks and Tiesto won't be crazy or wasted enough to try to top it.
