John Terry on Petr Cech's potential move to Arsenal: 'He will save them 12 to 15 points a season'

It's not a surprise that John Terry holds Petr Cech in high regard after more than a decade of playing together at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea captain predicts Cech could be worth up to an extra 15 points if he joins city rivals Arsenal, which has been heavily reported as the Czech Republic international prefers to remain in London where his family is settled.

"There is obviously talk of Arsenal signing Petr and if they do get Pete, that will strengthen them for sure. He will save them 12 to 15 points a season," Terry told TalkSport, courtesy of Sky Sports.

"I am sure if he does leave the club, which nobody wants to see, but we understand he wants to play football, he is going to be sorely missed. He will improve whatever side he goes to."

Cech's exit from Chelsea appears to be imminent as the 34-year-old attempts to get his career back on track following a year on the bench behind Thibaut Courtois.

Sky Sports reports that a deal between Cech and Arsenal has been agreed to, but a transfer fee between the two clubs is the only obstacle remaining.

Fortunately for Arsenal, if Terry's assessment is true, Cech's arrival should help the club erase the 12-point gap that separated the two last season when Chelsea won the Premier League.
