It was another close affair for England as it battled Sweden in its second match of the European under-21 Championship.

Jesse Lingard, however, broke the deadlock with five minutes remaining courtesy of a spectacular goal from a corner kick to lift the Three Lions to a 1-0 win.

As Sweden cleared the cross into its box, the ball fell to the Manchester United youngster at the edge of the box. Lingard showed great patience as he calmly controlled the ball and fired a swerving volley into the back of the net.

The win gives England its first three points of the tournament following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Portugal in the opener.
