The Kansas City Royals' fourth straight win was a record-setting one for manager Ned Yost.

Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers made Yost the most successful regular-season manager in club history, surpassing Whitey Herzog for the most wins by a Royals skipper. With the win, Yost improved to 411-427 across parts of six seasons in Kansas City.

"It's nice, but again, I don't really look at it as an individual achievement," Yost told reporters after the game. "I don't feel like I'm in the same class as Whitey Herzog and Dick Howser (third-winningest), one. Two, this is an organizational achievement."

Yost's milestone night was especially sweet for the 60-year-old manager, who accomplished the feat against his former team. He was fired as the Brewers' manager after the club lost 11 of 14 games during the 2008 pennant race.

The defending AL champion Royals have now won eight of their last 10, and lead the Central by 3 1/2 games over the Minnesota Twins.
