GM Rich Cho says Hornets could be active on trade front at draft

Charlotte Hornets general manager Rich Cho sounds like a man more than willing to make a deal at next week's NBA Draft.

"We've been talking to a lot of teams about moving up, moving backward, moving the pick altogether," Cho told reporters on Thursday. "I'd love to move up, but it depends on how much we'd have to give up."

The Hornets currently select ninth, but Cho thinks picks could be moving on draft night. "I think there will be a decent amount of movement," he added.

At the same time, the GM said No. 9 is not a bad place to be with this year's class. "Right where we're picking there are positions across the board that are deep," he said. "That's why we think we'll get a very good player at nine."

Ideally, they could use a ready-to-produce wing. Kentucky two-guard Devin Booker has been linked to Charlotte in mocks, in part due to their need for shooting. The Hornets finished dead last in the NBA in 3-point percentage last season.

The Hornets have already shuffled the deck this week, trading one failed experiment at wing, Lance Stephenson, to the Los Angeles Clippers for Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes. Shooting guard Gerald Henderson exercised his player option on Wednesday to stay with the team.
